Today we learned about the Letter B. We watched a short clip from old classic Sesame Street "B is for bubble" I asked the kids to listen carefully and try to figure out which letter we were going to talk about today. Alema got it right off! We talked about the sound B makes and the different things that start with the letter B. With some of the different items we sang songs that matched, like the Bubble song, Bringing home a baby bumble bee and Teddy bear, teddy bear touch the ground, we ended with the Wheels on the bus (I explained that there would be a special surprise later). ;) We passed out the chalk boards and practiced writing the letter B, well sort of. They loved drawing on the chalk boards anyway.
Next we did a rather messy science project, Paint bubble art. It was worth it though, they had so much fun! Ms Julie and Ms.Cici (my sister-in-law) were just glad no one sucked the liquid up the straw rather than just blowing.
The Kids then went outside to blow bubbles with Uncle Mark while I cleaned up and got snack time ready.
We then had snack time of Bananas, Chocolate Teddy Grahams (Bears) and Berry Milk (Strawberry Quik instead of chocolate.) Delicious!! ;) Kuulei was a very good snack helper.
We then did some bead art work. We used pipe cleaners and colorful beads to make Butterflies.
Then there was a knock at the door, our SURPRISE was finally here! The kids all went out front to see the School Bus.
Uncle David was able to show the kids how the doors open and shut, they got to lookout all the windows and even blow the horn. Uncle David showed them how the lift works to help handicapped children with wheel chairs get on the bus.
Good-bye Uncle David, Thank you for showing us the bus! :)
We then got all our stuff ready to go home and we read a couple of books while we waited for our moms to come. Then they wanted to dance, so we danced to "Baby, baby, baby ohhhh" by Justin Bieber. Boy, can they dance!!
What a great day at preschool, can't wait til Wednesday!
